Loved the presenter's style of presentation and the fact that most of her knowledge for this topic was gained through her own experience of dealing with her son and his experience. When one lends their own experience in dealing with the situation for which they are speaking it lends credibility.

Excellent! Info presented is SO needed in this age of working with so many different professionalson teams and when parents are bringing advocates and lawyers to meetings. SLPs could benefit so much from further exploring their emotional intelligence in relation to their upbringing. The presenter was well-organized and researched the info thoroughly and applied it to the SLP experience. I am retired now but I'm using this valuable info to better communicate with a volatile family member.

The presenter gave clear suggestions and examples of what to do/say and how. She showed us how tone and body language matter and impact even more than the actual words. She made this presentation very practical and provided useful tools to use (especially the phrasing/question types) in difficult and uncomfortable situations because it can be hard to mask our feelings. It can be hard not to take things said by parents personally.

The presentation is not limited to conversations with families.
