Excellent information - both professionally and for life in general. God bless you Marva and thank you to your son for his service. I wish more time had been spent on the information at the end of the presentation. Either information at the beginning had been shortened up (I was familiar with information at the beginning) so that more time could be spent on the information at the end, or the course had been lengthened (1.5-2 hours...). It was good and worthwhile though.

So much of this information she gave can yes apply too our work environments and the parents we encounter. It can over lap with various other life situations we find ourself encountering as well. She gave much food for thought and I found a lot of truth behind what she said. Listening and watching her... she was human!! She was real!! She was someone I could learn from, relate to, and found myself laughing because I too, I guess, express my feeling on my face. My hubby reads me too well. :)

It was a great course if you are having difficult IEP meetings. It is a misleading title though because I thought the course would be about having to talk to parents about difficult diagnoses or referrals, or helping parents in denial. I thought the course would be about difficult conversations in the therapeutic setting. The title should change so people know it is really only about IEP meetings. I do not work in a school setting and would not have taken it.

I believe that the topic is multidimensional, insofar that it has application for peer-to-peer—especially in a field that is over 95 percent female. The background material and content was relevant and was a good refresher from my first seminar on emotional intelligence. I am late in my career and It has been helpful for me to change my expectations rather than lower them among peers. This course would be beneficial for those who may struggle with self-awareness, trust, respect, and inclusion.
