Marva has been a practicing speech-language pathologist for over 3 decades, with much of her practice being with children from birth to 24 years of age. She does presentations across the US on a variety of topics related to speech pathology. A chapter author in the Professional Issues in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Fifth Edition, Marva is passionate about professional issues that impact our field. Marva received the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association Hall of Fame Award in 2018 for her contributions to the profession. Marva is currently serving as the ASHA Convention 2021 Topic Chair for Leadership and Professional Issues, her second year in this role.
