Wheelchair categories and their clinical indicators are systematically explored, along with optimal frame configuration and stroke methods to increase propulsion efficiency and reduce the risk of repetitive stress injury.

A hierarchy of computer and tablet access options for clients unable to use standard access, such as a keyboard, mouse, and touch screen, is presented in this course. Areas to be analyzed during assessment, including motor skills, vision, cognition, and functional applications, are described, and alternative keyboards, mice, operating systems and software rate enhancement are discussed, to help prepare the learner for the Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) exam.

After the wheelchair seating assessment is complete, specific client needs must be matched to seating product interventions. Various categories of seating systems, their clinical indicators and constituents, including primary support surfaces, secondary support components, and materials, are discussed in this course.
