The presenter shared pretty even information regarding benefits as well as challenges of collaboration. In light of the controversy, many presentations are one sided and don’t consider ways professionals can and should strive to meet in the middle to serve a population of students that have diverse needs.

I love how applicable it was to my daily practice. I have seen a lot of SLP's feel a bit threatened by ABA. I strike to have the mindset of coming to perceived problems with solutions instead of just complaining about the problem. I like that the instructor emphasized that ABA is not going away and that is not a realistic resolution, so here is what we can do to maximize outcomes via collaboration.

Education on the background of ABA therapy, who they are, and what they do was really helpful. Also, understanding how to approach ABA therapy and RBTs and BCBAs so that there is good communication for the improvement of the client overall.

Kelli Marshall did an excellent job outlining the challenges of collaboration while establishing how important it is for SLPs and BCBAs to collaborate. She did this by identifying strengths and challenges for each profession and how to use our strengths to help create the best program for our clients. This type of collaboration is important with all who are involved with a client. Thank you

I found the challenges that ABA txist are faced with interesting and insightful. As a pediatric clinician my of my client's who present with Autism are under the age of 10 and I will often times connect with their ABA txist so that we can brainstorm and work on strategies across the clients environmental settings.

I have very little experience with ABA therapists at this time. I have had a couple of students that have also had an ABA therapist at home, but they are not allowed to travel in the building throughout the child's day in my district. I would like to see videos of an ABA therapist and SLP working together.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course and opening up the conversation about collaborating with ABA. As an SLP who worked in early childhood, it was initially challenging to work with the particular team members implementing ABA. This information was helpful in looking at what ABA professionals can bring to the table and how we as SLP's can provide them with the needed information about speech and language development.

I went into this course with some trepidation as I have been doing learning about neurodiversity affirming practices however the speaker is completely aware of the controversy around ABA and speaks to how to collaborate despite this, which is honestly what I needed suggestions on. SLPs doing learning about neurodiversity affirming practices and listening to Autistic voices will get something out of this course.

I really found this informative. especially about the perspctive of the ABA therapist. I always thougt there approach was completely opposite of an SLP. I can see now with collaboration it does not necessarily go that way, especially when you have the client and family's needs as the center of the goals. This was really well put together and I am going to refer to this many times.

The role of ABA within my school, where I work as an SLP, has increased. This instructor allowed for an unbiased, informative presentation of FACTS about both professions with clear, concise examples and easy to understand vocabulary.
