I like taking the text version of courses so that I can read and learn at my own pace. I like how this was outlined especially listing the strengths, challenges of SLPs and also BAs. I wish I took this course a few years earlier. SLPs and ABAs have different views and see through a different lens. I liked how this was stated in the course. I had trouble communicating this a few years ago.

I liked how the course described the strengths and challenges of both providers, ABA and SLP personnel. It was a great reminder of functional communication analysis and to look at the functional communication from the behavior displayed. I liked how the presenter told us to have an open-mind with the collaboration between SLP's and ABA staff because the collaboration is important for the clients and their families.

Looking at strengths and challenges with each field/profession was helpful in allowing me to identify where to start collaborating with BCBA's. Learning how to approach them -- educating them on developmental norms, the importance of naturalistic teaching, using a strengths-based approach, developing functional skills and working with patients/families is something that I will put into practice immediately.

I very much appreciated and related to this course as I work very closely with many RBTs, BCBAs and BCABAs. However; I question if some of them truly see behavior as communication. If that is what is taught, I am not convinced that the RBTs are really understanding that aspect. I heard more SLP colleagues stating that Behavior is communication than I do RBTs, etc.

With the increasing amount of ABA's and BCBA's that are not present in the school system, it is important how to know how to collaborate with them and it was and the author was also understanding on how difficult it can be to also work with other but how it can be a great benefit.

The instructor did a fine job of providing a neutral presentation of the material. But the fact that this course needs to exist is a testament to how little ASHA does to advocate for the abilities of its SLPs. SLPs are doing what they can to advocate for neurodivergent clients, but it's hard when services are motivated by insurance dollars and those clients are getting funneled to ABA clinics instead of allied professionals.
