It was a good idea and had good principles, but I only have limited time with the children on the caseload. Practicing breathing and mindfulness would take too much time out of the therapy session in my opinion. I will, however, incorporate a few of these ideas.

I often teach mindfulness using books, but find it challenging to keep students attention sustained when engaging students with shared book reading. This course offered excellent ideas for focused attention practices that can be used before, during and after shared book reading to increase attention, engagement and self-regulation practices. I also really enjoyed the book recommendations and focused attention practices that were demonstrated.
