I found this course to be very helpful because one of the biggest challenges I face in therapy is keeping a child's attention long enough to impact language development. I love the idea of using still images in a book as opposed to images on a screen that don't last long enough for a child's brain to absorb sufficiently. Thank you for bringing us back to the basics of being present in the moment with a good book or simple activity.

The rate of the class was very slow and very basic. The list of books that are at preschool level was helpful. Having to 'breathe' frequently during the presentation was not the best use of time.

This course, as well as the yoga course, were the best courses I have taken from speechpathology.com yet. The concepts really resonated with me and I am looking forward to using the suggestions that were provided. I really appreciate that Dr. Lederer included so many practical examples of activities that can be incorporated into actual sessions. I highly recommend this course!

To me the presentation was scattered/disjointed. The presenter's explanation of the owl and the dog scenario was very confusing. Too many videos and outside sources were used and that demonstrates that the presenter was not able to teach the topic effectually.

The objectives and class description led me slightly astray, as I thought we were going to focus more on applying mindfulness to any book. The course seemed to focus more on learning about mindfulness and suggesting books for learning mindfulness and specific books the author suggested vs. being more far reaching and applicable.
