I am a yoga therapist teaching adults, where I include mindfulness. I am also a yoga therapist for children, and I am including children with special needs in my classes. I already use books in my sessions to spark kids’ imagination—it's a great tool. This course is phenomenal; I’m getting fresh ideas to add to my yoga toolkit. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

I took the course because I have a granddaughter with ADHD who has hyperfocuses on thoughts, so it was very helpful in guiding her to breathe and if her mind wanders, just begin again. Listening/looking are also great strategies. I work with middle school students with behavior problems, so I also like the breathing exercises.

These books and strategies will contribute to my sessions and consultation. I will apply this course materials to my everyday practice immediately.

Dr. Susan Lederer did a really good job of first, making us mindful of ourselves and then incorporating activities to heighten our own self awareness. Looking at different children's books with specific ideas, using a book for specific mindful looking or a book for mindful listening was also presented. I appreciated all of her references. She was enjoyable to listen to and a wonderful source of ideas to use in therapy.
