I felt like it mostly just reviewed PTSD symptomology and comorbidities and not how this directly affects how we can help our patients in actual speech therapy. I also do not feel like I know how I would document any of this to relate to my profession as an SLP. I also felt the use of the word "Um" was very distracting.

Important information regarding PTSD and how to approach dx and tx with individuals who need our services and also suffer from ptsd. The speaker’s throat clearing was initially distracting, but her eventual explanation of laryngitis helped the listener understand the context better. Important lesson in alerting our listeners to what’s happening with us communication-wise.

I did not know about the Marmer research and that speech based alogithms can determine PTSD in verbailizations and impact on dysfluent speech or stutter like characteristics. I wonder how trauma on young individuals also demonstrates dysfluent speech as we see in the school system and its further impact on reading fluency. I did not know SLP's can administer the CAP-5. Amazing information.

I'm the ex wife of an active duty service member. He probably has PTSD from combat. He was abusive and is a high-functioning alcoholic. I took a course for CE on PTSD years ago. I learned nothing new today, despite "new" research being presented. The course was just fine. I have a dx of PTSD from the abuse I endured at the hands of my ex, who had no previous trauma other than war. Where is the research on PTSD on spouses? I reported him to the Army. He was then promoted to Colonel.
