Engaging and well-paced intermediate course with a strong data-driven approach. The emphasis on early development and language-rich environments was timely and relevant. While it largely reinforced what many SLPs already know ('preaching to the choir'), it effectively backed up clinical observations with compelling statistics and practical implications. A valuable refresher with clear takeaways.

I have been waiting to read about/learn about the social/language/learning impact of increased screen time during the Pandemic and the impact of decreased social interactions. It's astounding and heartbreaking. After listening to this webinar, I believe more than ever, in the importance of caregiver education at the 0-5 yrs levels. I am an EC SLP and do my best to educate parents about promoting language development. Our district needs to do more.

Continue to advocate for less screen time for our children and help educate new parents and younger parents on the old school ways to promote their young child's development. I loved how this course covered how important it is to work on oral narrative skills. I often find myself questioning how much I should work on certain areas of language. Many of my students have learning disabilities (e.g. dyslexia) and it validated how important it is to work on oral narratives to help set them up for success in writing narratives. It also made me evaluate how I spend time with my own daughter and what I really want to implement in my personal life as well.

I enjoyed the speaker's enthusiasm and ability to convey the analysis of data regarding screen time and its impact on early childhood development, as well as how it has changed dramatically in children post-COVID. It's pretty alarming, and the red flags it raises about the impact technology has on our children are particularly concerning. I aim to do my best as an SLP-A to create better awareness in the homes of the families I reach, and this training has armed me with facts to do so.
