Just the information I was looking for this year. I have spent years struggling to answer how can I help my diverse caseload in schools truly make gains, without overlapping reading intervention services, and other special education services. Supports what I have already been doing with research! Getting of the WH question train! Eager to share this information with my school teams.

Wow! I was on the edge of my seat, yet jumping up and down inside with excitement because this is exactly what i needed to learn. The research was so compelling and the promise of cascading results is SO motivating! I'm rehearsing how to sing and use gestures to teach elements of story telling. I just told a mom today (before your session) that we were going to start working on narratives and now I have a fantastic game plan! Starting part II right now! Thank you!

This course was excellent because it clearly presented current research on narrative intervention and connected it to meaningful, practical clinical strategies. Wow! It’s just like the studies that show how engagement occurs between a story teller and a participant. Mirror neurons are going! I remember when I started focusing on narratives with my preschool students way back… the teachers thought I was crazy and I said, give me a few weeks. In a few weeks time everyone was hooked.

I found this course to have a lot of helpful information. As an SLPA, I would like to have seen her do more modeling of how to apply these principles and demonstrating reading/ telling a story to a child. As well as examples of cuing that were directly related a chosen read aloud story. She had some very creative ideas, but it would have helped me to see more direct & focused concrete example. How do we cue them to re-tell the story w/o wh questions while using a narrative language w/visuals?
