I am the lead SLP on our Playbased Screening team, and oftentimes, I find myself in tense discussions with fellow team members who want me to recommend evaluations for social/pragmatic communication delays based on behaviors observed during screenings. When I observe students using language to communication likes/dislikes, wants/needs, social engagement, and complext language--those skills show me strengths. Thank you for supporting my understanding of social/pragmatic langauge skills.

I would suggest that there are differences in these traits when it comes to people who have AuDHD (combined adhd + autism). I would recommend to review research on deception behavior with adults who have autism: Bagnall R, Russell A, Brosnan M, Maras K. Deceptive behaviour in autism: A scoping review. Autism. 2022 Feb;26(2):293-307. doi: 10.1177/13623613211057974. Epub 2021 Nov 26. PMID: 34825581; PMCID: PMC8814957.
