I enjoyed the course because I can apply this knowledge as a therapist with my students but--most importantly at home with my child with a language disorder. The fact that vocabulary is such an area of struggle for us, learning that teaching morphemes and root words--could be so helpful in gaining comprehension.

This portion of the course was excellent because it provided evidence-based strategies for teaching vocabulary to students with language learning difficulties (LLD). It emphasized the importance of explicit instruction, repetition, and meaningful engagement, showing that careful teaching of a few words over multiple sessions can improve both vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension.

The vocabulary used should match the level of understanding of the child we treat, or then we teach them what these words mean. It's important to realize that everyone is different and so is their understanding of vocabulary.
