I love that it gives the tier 1 vocabulary assessment. I wish tier 2 and 3 were included. Very basic information about the importance of vocabulary. The four levels are helpful when explaining to parents vocabulary development and skill level.

I appreciated the information about how reading gives parents a chance to talk about things not in the here and now, and how important it is to know about this that haven't happened in your daily life. I work in EI and getting parents to read to their kids can be hard. If I can point out how it will greatly benefit vocabulary and further reading performance, it helps a little.
