This course had a lot of great discussion on how SLPs should handle the gray area of diet modification/patients rights. However it feels like a huge opportunity was missed to support SLP’s by showing example documentation. “We are all licensed SLPs” was reason given not to do that. How wonderful it would be to support new clinicians in showing an example of how to professionally document some of those situations! A template even, that could be modified. Maybe another course!

The step by step discussion is extremely valuable for clinician's at any point in their SLP career. There is plenty take-away for SLP in any setting, including acute care. I highly recommend this course to clinician's in any setting!

I know very little about this setting and subject, and now feel like I have a good overview of the complexities. These "gray" areas are not entirely unique to swallowing and SNF care teams, too, which helps inform otherpatient-centered plans and situations with co-occurring morbidities. Excellent presenter, real-life scenarios, and very comprehensive, but condensed presentation. Thank you so much!
