Outdated information. Lip service to patient rights. Poor discussing about how her ideas fit into the productivity pressure and need for X minutes Y times a week in these settings. Advising people to get sigs for informed consent?!?!? What. No. Coersive practice.

This course has very practical information including the important direction to continue with therapy seeking to find creative alternatives for safety if a patient is, for example, not interested in thick liquids or a diet modification rather than old thinking which may have had us signing off reporting patient "refusing." This course highlights the importance of putting our values aside and making the patient's values important and including them in the decision making process.

Once again, another excellent course from Ms. Collier that addresses the multiple benefits, risks and challenges unique to an SLP's work with older populations. Her suggestions for SLP's were professional and candid especially when they may be asked to support care plan decisions with which they may not agree. The course is clear, concise and evident of Ms. Collier's knowledge, expertise, and deep compassion for older populations.

It's a very relevant topic for Medical SLPs. We come across these grey areas everyday. It's important to highlight and hear what other professionals due in situation where families or Pt's are non-compliant w/dietary suggestions. We have to allow our Pt's the right to refuse our suggestions but at the same time cover ourselves. This is the grey area.

Negative Impact of COVID 19 and variances on skilled care facility clients and family was important to be aware of and incorporate in the therapeutic process; and role of the SLP. also helpful with this population. Mentioned interprofessional communicatrion (Team assessment of t of client and how all folk could work together). Ta;led about current rules regulatrions, statutes that SLPs need to be aware/incoporate
