Another excellent course, Shari - thank you! I am smitten with you and your work! I have always loved using books in therapy and the idea of actually becoming an author of appropriate children's books never crossed my mind. God gave me musical talent but when it comes to art/the ability to draw, I am utterly "handicapped" so I never tried writing children's books. I felt extremely hampered by my inability to illustrate. Your workshop may change that for me!

This session shows how speech-language pathologists can use their knowledge of language development to create meaningful children’s books. SLP-written stories can support vocabulary, early literacy, social skills, and speech practice in fun, engaging ways. Parents will learn how these books are designed to help children grow as confident communicators while enjoying stories tailored to their needs.

FuN, relevant and exciting course ~ thoroughly enjoyed it! Love Shari's clever idea to develop a line of engaging storybooks rooted in linguistic concepts and phonological processes for children to not only enjoy but learn from! As a veteran SLP, I so agree with her that children should have a real, actual book held in their hands that their imaginations can go on an adventure with turning pages, playing with/learning from the follow up manipulatives. A+
