Outdated information, some incorrect or no longer applicable. Not citing numbers or research. Seems like someone who had been in the field a long time but is not up-to-date on research or current reading practices.

In my late-career work with upper elementary students in co-taught classrooms, we focus heavily on Tier 2 /content vocabulary and morphology. This course feels like affirmation that I am on the right track while also reminding me of forgotten details and adding new information. I appreciate concrete tips like what to do replace clapping syllables with and the suggestion for vocabulary goal-writing: It's not thinking about the words as much as what you're tying to get out of them. Thank you!!

I feel this is such a hot topic in our field, however 25 years ago when I was in school I didn't learn Language and Literacy per se. Everything Angie says makes sense, she just puts everything into a very logical way of explaining

This presentation was packed with research that will help empower us within the school environment, inform decision making, and facilitate conversations about the importance of these components as it relates to reading comprehension. The snippet shared from the Lena, 2021 study was so motivating. Possibly the BEST course I've taken on speechpathology.com to date.

I really enjoyed both courses on this topic as I didn't feel as knowledgeable about reading comprehension and what helps reading comprehension. I had already known about the importance of developing background knowledge at a young age, but it is always interesting to see the difference in data / numbers when presented (background knowledge and matthew effect slides). I took away a lot of new information over these two courses as well.
