The course gave clear, useful advice on how to look at phonological patterns that are unique to Spanish-speaking kids. The case examples were really helpful and helped me use assessment and intervention procedures more accurately. The teacher broke down difficult ideas in a clear and orderly fashion, which made it easier for me to use the content in my daily work.

It gave information for us to use in different types of speech sound disorders. Plus got to practice phonetic spelling for Spanish words which helped us find the type of disorder the child may have. Very engaging and informative.

I liked the phonetic transcription practice and how he then explained. examples of words to target/think about at the different levels will also assist me looking at upcoming therapy sessions and which words to target- especially thinking about syllableness and how to coach my Spanish speaking families about this.

The presenter is well organized and knowledegable. The sample transcription exercises were very beneficial. This will assist SLPs in correctly indentifying speech/phonological delays vs dialectal features. He also shares evidence based therapy methods, strategies and techniques. I appreciate the statement that "dialects should not be counted as errors ... each variety is beautiful, warrented and valid."

I would have appreciated more resources for how to generate word lists. For example, if I want CVC Spanish words that start with /g/, how do I find those? I can't pull them from my head since I don't speak Spanish. I also would have appreciated more background on Spanish developmental norms. When are these phonological processes typical and atypical? Are some of these processes typical up to a certain age?

AMAZING!!! Loved everything about this presentation. As a bilingual speech-language pathologist, I don't know how many times I have discussions with other Spanish speaking colleagues that were ready to qualify a child based on a dialectal difference! It's so very important to complete that background information with parents and determine what type of Spanish is spoken at home and what kind of model the child has been exposed to.
