There was a lot of good information and the course was very thorough. I personally thought the terminology and some of the information was a bit advanced for an introductory course.

I feel like this course was very applicable to rehab professionals, whereas the last pain management course I took focused mostly on medications etc that I will never directly deal with. I never really thought there was much I could do about pain and although still I think it would only really be applicable for swallowing or maybe voice as an SLP I can see how these principles could be helpful there. Very engaging speaker.

Well presented and exceedingly thorough. Mike had clear examples of the complex topic / areas that he covered. I thought he presented a balanced approach to therapy for each service provider - the SLP, other involved clinicians - and the patient. He really knows his subject matter and he has a good sense of humor

Very applicable to understanding pain in our patients, ourselves, and others. also wise advise re: patient buy-in and autonomy that can be applied across fields. Love the idea that the placebo effect is a two-sided coin, and that patient belief in evidence-based therapy will only aid outcomes.

Wow! Exceptional course! Currently, I am a lifetime ASHA member, and not working in the field. However, I can see how this can influence certain types of therapy approaches, and how it relates to me personally, especially about how belief structure influences outcomes. I had 2 neck fusion surgeries in the past few years by the same surgeon, who I trust and respect. This has increased my confidence to conquer pain, heal well, & maintain my previous lifestyle (hiking).
