I know which generation I belong and it is easier to work within the generation. I'm in a position where I am sandwiched in between different generations and try to be cognizant of the needs of all. However, my bias is to lean toward the generations that came before me. I appreciated the "needs" of each generations and what makes them tick especially those brought up with technology and decreased need for the social courtesies that often need to be taught.

I don't think I reacted to this course the way the instructor intended. I, and I imagine many others, don't like people telling me about who I am. I found the descriptions of characteristics of generations to be reductive and stereotypical. I would suggest prefacing this information with a discussion of individual characteristics which may differ due to a variety of factors. By the time the instructor got to the brain colors discussion, I was already pretty offended.

I don't think the black and white stereotypes for each group hold true, maybe each group slants towards the characteristics, but certainly I do not identify with the group characteristics as a worker in the workforce, so I know that this charge to fit everyone in a certain category based on age is not always going to be accurate. We can say generalizations or differences may exist in how someone perceives and responds to situations, but it isn't black and white.

This is really one of the best generational management seminars of seen or read. Really good practical team building questions, fun wiz ideas. I love loved it! I hope they update it when new info comes out. I would love to read it! I was a manager/director/trainer for years and having all of this info in one place would have been so beneficial as a new leader. I have gone back to clinical work now but I’m definitely recommending this to my manager now who is just beginning. Excellent!

A very eye-opening and helpful topic. When we think about diversity, people may not automatically think about the wide range of generations that are working in the same organization. I learned quite a bit, specifically about different ways people feel valued at work, and what tools are needed to help members of each generation thrive. Highly reccommend this course.

While I appreciated the information at the end of the presentation about how to support employees as individuals I think the generalization of each generation was inaccurate. I personally am a Gen X, but I related to little of the attributes that were linked to this generation. I realize that there are exceptions to rules, but I found it difficult to follow and understand the other generations while feeling my own was misrepresented.
