Too much information jammed into one hour. It would have been better to focus on a particular age level, e.g., early elementary, later elementary. I was hoping to get information to use with preschool children. The information about Brown's Morphemes was interesting, but I would have liked more specific information about appropriate measures and strategies to use with this age group.

First of all, the manner of the presenter's speech was very motivating. She used a slightly rapid rate of speech with great emphatic inflection that kept my interest all through the presentation. Very well done. Plus, she presented an enormous amount of pertinent material including treatment suggestions in a succinct and cogent way. It was extremely well constructed and she made learning and expanding my base knowledge in these areas very interesting and enjoyable. Kudos Ms.Neal!

Gives realistic therapy tasks that can be used to address sentence building, expanding language. Gives good treatment ideas, as these morphosyntactic skills are exceedingly difficult to teach pediatric to geriatric patients.

This course was excellent because it clearly connected morphology and syntax to reading and language comprehension using evidence-based practices. The explanations of morphophonemic structure, Lexile levels, and intervention strategies were clear and practical. I appreciated the focus on explicit instruction and meaningful assessment beyond MLU, which made the content immediately applicable to clinical and educational settings.

I love this topic and the resources provided for this. I find that many SLPs I come into contact with and students I mentor lack a fundamental understanding of linguistic principles even though we as SLPs are supposed to be language specialists. I will use this information to better serve my students!

Informative course on the importance of morphology and syntax on reading fluency, comprehension, written, and spoken language. Some practical therapeutic strategies were shared: model target and have child repeat it; prompt child to use target in meaningful contexts; recast errors correctly; provide feedback on child's utterances. An example of a doable therapy activity is sorting the words by grammar type: 3rd pp, possessives, or plurals.
