Teaching SLPs to practice mindfulness and hopefully spill over to their students/clients/patients. We (SLPS) can set the example in our being and in our sessions... We can then start and stop each session with a level of calmness...

It increased my awareness to certain stimuli, and how it negatively affects me. I am guilty of letting disappointment in my unmet personal goals bring me down, but I also take on too much at once, expecting it all to be done in good time. I realize I need to rethink the timeline to a more reasonable expectation of my abilities. All this will ultimately help me as a clinician when I am less stressed, and to help my patients find their least-stressed place in their minds. Thank you so much.

This course was intermediate level. Having taken the course, I would describe it as Beginner and disorganized. The speaker tried to attach models in a scattered fashion to a jumbled collection of ideas inherent in mindfulness. Ex. I could not follow when she appeared to impose the structure of Mindful Occupation with it's 5 components on the presentation. The distinction of Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence seemed contrived. Difficult to make connections.
