This course was very well taught and informative. Because the elementary building where I teach works with a co-teaching model, this information was not new to me. That being said, I do find it challenging to fit co-teaching into my schedule. I do find co-teaching very beneficial, however.

Great examples of ways to organize instruction. I like the fact that in a larger/smaller group setup, it was mentioned that the smaller group could be beneficial for students who may have missed instruction due to absence/field trip, etc., not just students who are receiving speech-language services. I believe this approach normalizes being in the smaller group for all of the students, lessening any stigma that may be attached to working in a small group or with the SLP.

The ideas in this course were good but these are perfect world scenarios. There is no way to complete any of these models in my current role as there is not enough support to see all the kids and complete this type of work. Schedules, not enough SLPs, time, it's just not there.
