Reading and writing skills are deeply rooted in the structure of language. This course introduces a framework of metalinguistic questions that educators can use to help students connect key elements of language—morphology, phonology, semantics, and orthography—with literacy skills such as vocabulary development, decoding, spelling, and reading comprehension. The strategies presented are adaptable to support learners across all grade levels and abilities.
