I don't always specifically target verbs, despite working on facilitating a rich vocabulary with young children. I love using books with families but never thought about focusing on the action words. Suggestions were very specific, immediately usable, practical, and fun. Information presented in very straightforward manner even when discussing research and evidence based practice.

It reiterated or confirmed things that I have already been doing to embed verb targets into therapy. I considered it as fair as I found I personally prefer to take a more play based/action driven approach to teaching verbs. While it was mentioned that she uses a variety of modalities (gestures, sign, words, pretend play, etc.) I historically have found greater and more impactful success without the use of books to facilitate learning of verbs. I think books are great for other reasons in therapy
