As a SLP who mainly works with Pre-K it teaches great ideas to target early developing verbs. It focuses on the importance of early developing verbs (e.g. eat/drink)

This course made me think about acquisition of verbs from the child's point of view and how important it is to be able to model and gesture to teach something new. It will help me be more focused during my sessions. I hope it will remind me not to rush through verbs/books/songs because multiple exposures are so important. Thank you.

Although I often work on verbs, the course helped me better understand why targeting verbs versus mainly nouns with young children is so important (I.e.- ver relational, harder to learn, need them to develop greater syntax). I really loved learning more about focused language stimulation and appreciated the example of books shown that the presenter wrote herself to show how she embeds verbs within different contexts and how she expands to use the verb across other activities.
