This course was excellent because it helped me understand how to make connections to stories through movement (moving your body and connecting your heart, mind, body). This final course allowed me to put everything into action and into perspective of how to use our whole bodies to bring literacy to life!

I really enjoyed this course. It was well organized, succinct, and gave clear examples of the student profile who will benefit from this intervention. I felt that examples for shared story reading were ample, but that the video examples at the end were a little rushed and did not quite connect with what had been reviewed and explained prior to playing them. Overall, I enjoyed learning this content and feel it can easily be implemented in my work.

When I look back to a lot of my graduate school courses, I would remember that the syllabus would be 85-90% research to "memorize," and then the last two lectures or sometimes even just the last lecture before finals would be on treatment techniques. Kelly does not do this. She takes the time to succinctly back up her suggestions with the research, but she spends a large amount of time showing the examples, videos, of what treatment might look like. The material relatable and approachable.
