I appreciated the instructor's personal and traumatic story about caring for yourself. The Professional Quality of Life Scale (ProQOL) is an excellent resource to determine one's level of satisfaction, burnout, and fatigue. The Course Handouts were very helpful.

Excellent course. I was caught off-guard when the instructor shared her own personal trauma. She was so brave to do so. Sharing her journey through trauma helped to illustrate the information she was sharing. Her personal connection to the topic, and her desire to share what she has learned made this course more meaningful.

I have suffered from compassion fatigue and burnout during my short time as a therapist and have also had to learn to create boundaries, prioritize self-care, and change positions until you find one that fits and prioritizes you as a therapist. This was an excellent talk and is something that should be discussed more frequently in our field.

Important information for those in any "caring" profession, who often put themselves last. Do-able ideas. Empathetic people need to practice self care as a way to continue to serve others and preserve their heart. I appreciated the option to complete this PD as a text, which allowed me to read, absorb, and keep the ideas handy for later.

The presenter's content handles emotional and energy depleting processes involving burn out in our field. She provides a great analysis and resources helpful for therapists across many settings. Trauma affects us all. I have been a therapist now 50 years and this is one the most effectively presented courses available. I love our field, but healthcare settings are highly stressful and providers face significant challenges during and after Covid-19.

As speech language pathologist, we tend to be very focused on our work and forget sometimes we may be overworking. This was a good stress, reliever, and time to pause discussion. We all need to take breaks sometimes and realize that overworking can lead to high levels of stress and weaken our immune system.
