I loved how she simplified the information and recapped the information at the end. It was easy to follow since it was just 5 strategies covered - also easy to remember afterwards. Although I rarely do virtual sessions right now, many of these strategies also apply to in-person therapy as well. I loved the idea of virtual field trips!

This course discussed a lot of difficulties the presenter had during Covid. Teletherapy started well before that. As an SLP with many years of teletherapy experience, I was hoping the focus would be more positive and related to those clients with Autism. I did enjoy the online field trip suggestion and outline for therapy. That is what I was hoping the conversation would focus on more!

The course outlines key strategies for working effectively with autistic students in a virtual setting. This includes setting up the environment, engaging students, identifying useful resources, training parents, and summarizing sessions to reinforce understanding and collaboration. The course is beneficial because it provides clear teletherapy strategies, engages parents as active partners, and comes from a credible, practical source with strong peer feedback making it a reliable resource.

This course taught me to approach teletherapy in five ways when working with students online. First, we want to set up the expectations for each lesson. Parent involvement is extremely important. There are five ways to engage the students: plan something fun and easy, work on their specific goals, and break repeating. The resources are fantastic: Boom Learning and Get Epic, which I have used in my speech classes, helped our students with their communication skills. I will use these resources.
