Engaging presenter. I've enjoyed every single one of her courses! Social skills, social reciprocity, social communication and pragmatics were defined clearly and explained comprehensively using real-life examples. I gained a better understanding of how to distinguish these terms, and how to explain them to others.

I thought the comments about ABA were unnecessary. I am a SLP and BCBA and I wholeheartedly agree with all of the content you presented, but if it appears that if you judged me just because of my title. It is disheartening and we should all learn to respect each other, teach each other and collaborate.

As someone who has been on a medical ASD diagnostic team in the past that did not always support a neurodiverse view, this course was an excellent breath of fresh air. It was an amazing refresher and reminder that everyone on the diagnostic team needs to be able to define necessary terms that we are using in our evaluations and reports. I am definitely recommending this course to other SLPs!

Angie Neal explains in detail the elements required for assessments of students suspected of being on the Autism Spectrum. She provides in depth information and makes a case for what questions need to be asked when assessing a student suspected of Autism. The assessment team needs to be more aware of the context in which behaviors occur and to ask the student to explain what the behaviors mean to them and to what purpose the behaviors serve.
