It gave a lot of information but it was overly succinct for the depth and breadth of this important topic. I consider it as a brief summary and overview.

I felt that this course enhanced my understanding of the interconnecting cycle of speech science from respiration to phonation to articulation and perception by the listener. I have been away from a good speech science course for a few years, so it was great to reconnect and review some of the principles of speech science in addition to seeing some new research too!

The author provided a great overview of speech science and its application to the clinical setting. I especially appreciated learning about the use of apps in measuring aspects of verbal communication.Unfortunately, her introductory paragraphs reinforced the stereotyped view that women don't like/can't "do" math. How condescending. "The deep desire of SLPs to help people communicate is not always accompanied by a passion for math and physical science".

The various technology that is out there today that I was unaware of to improve speech outcomes for my school children. In addition, she linked the type of speech disorder and the specific technology to use to assess.
