It further enforced the importance that therapists have to engage students by connecting therapy to their own experiences and values, for example, using games or songs from their culture because students are always more motivated and responsive when therapy feels respectful and familiar to them. As a therapist, it is always important to support the students communication and learning without erasing or undermining their cultural identity.
