I am always concerned when course materials expect the student to infer or come to their own conclusions based on the educational materials. I understand it is a skill society values and necessary for being a good clinician. However, this is a very short course with no direct teacher involvement, therefore no discussion on viewpoints. Then you are asked questions with only ONE correct response. This is not the time to ask for an inference, without discussion, then to be tested on said inference.

I love the fact that specific resources were listed within the article straight from ASHA that can be pulled as therapy resources now - I currently have ELL students listed in Pre-K who teachers have concerns about, and I advised to wait and see how much they pick up to determine if it's a language difference or developmental delay.

Not excellent because I, as the therapist, cannot train an interpreter. Personally, my background is SLP and ASL Interpreter. SLP's cannot train interpreters, only an interpreter training program can do so. Also, children of bilingual adults tend to step in to interpret, but this is not the first recommendation. Many Children of Deaf Adults (CODAs) grew up interpreting for their parents, but will now ask for a trained interpreter because that is the right of the client.
