This training offered explicit instructions on how to implement this speech model into the school setting. As a speech assistant, I have wanted to incorporate a trial speech model into my school, but I lacked the tools to do so. Thanks for creating a training with step by step instructions. This training will definitely be brought up in a conversation with my supervisor in hopes of incorporating it into the school I serve. Thank you.

I have implemented a similar model for several years with some modifications. I often see two (up to 4) students 4 days per week for 10 minutes. This model is much better suited for groups of 2 students. I very much appreciated learning about the research to back this service delivery model.

In my experience, conducting shorter sessions makes it more difficult to develop rapport with students. Conducting sessions in hallways and public places is a violation of a clients confidential treatment and is more distracting than designated spaces. This seems to be an idea motivated to decrease service minutes in the school setting where SLPs are overloaded, but does not appear to be in the student's best interest. Minutes shouldn't be based on SLP availability.

For the past four years, it has been an overwhelming amount of paperwork and no therapy for my students (120-150 caseload). I'm moving into my 25th year and I am actively considering making it my last. With this information, I have the data to support the importance of providing students what they need while still maintaining integrity and a work balance.

I LOVE the idea of doing this, but the implementation is what is holding me back. It is hard enough to get kids here once or twice a week; asking them to attend ON TIME 3 times a week is unlikely. I already know that half the group won't show up or will be so late they need to be pushed back to the following group.
