I was excited to learn that this area is being addressed. Years ago, I attended an IEP meeting for a 2nd grader who had been doing ok until he started 2nd grade. I asked if he had a head injury when he was younger, and it turned out that he had fallen off a slide and landed on his head. He had been knocked unconscious, but his doctor said he was fine. There was no follow up. The state I worked in didn't allow kids with a TBI to be in Special Education. He had a language disorder.
