I'm currently supervising a CF, and have supervised a graduate student during Covid times. I have three (3) co-workers who are also supervising individuals in graduate school, or who are beginning their CFYs. I realize that between us, there are generations spanning from Baby Boomers through Millenials, in the position of supervision. This course provided wonderful insight that I will share with my co-workers who are in the position of supervising.

I enjoyed listening to this course. Honestly, before this course I didn’t give much thought to the different characteristics of the different generations. I consider myself pretty easy to get along with so I guess I didn’t put much thought into how the times have really influenced generation Z as well as other generations. This was enlightening.

As a Baby Boomer with 5 grand children in GenZ, I thoroughly enjoyed this presentation ~ both on a professional level, and on a personal level. I think all classroom teachers as well as parents should be exposed to the considerations introduced here. We DO need to understand GenZ if we're going to get the most out of them, and provide the best learning guidance. Very Interesting!

The course offered information re: why generation Z acts the way they do and how they like to learn, experience the world, how teachers/supervisors should change their teaching styles to fit what generation Z prefers. Unfortunately, the course did not provide information on how a supervisor or mentoring coworker can fill in the crucial gaps of lack of problems solving skills, critical thinking skills, and implementation of skills for real life patients/clients with real life impairments.

I have thought a lot about the same information presented in this course, but haven't thought of it in a way that Amanda has put it. She has related it to things that we are honestly seeing every single day with Gen Z kids - whether they are our students or patients. It has made me step into my patient's/student's shoes and motivates me to change the way I do things with them instead of wanting them to change.
