Good course, I feel I'd have benefitted more from a more in depth discussion about how to safely help alter pitch and resonance in these ways. However, great knowledge on the topic, and great advice on considering the whole person!

Although I don't currently work with transgender clients, it was really great to learn more about working with individuals who are currently transitioning or have transitioned. I don't typically work with voice, but it's great to learn other aspects within the field.

Matching and pairing the therapy to the stage of transitioning is vital. Many times it feels as if we are true therapists- along with the speech therapy component. It is felt that this type of training is more necessary and an area that was lacking or not spoken of as much in the past.

I was searching for information like that covered in this course.I know several transwomen and transmen and I kept hearing how their voice , "passing" was important for them. One friend in particular had started voice therapy but hadn't been following through recently. After taking this course, she agreed for me to try some of the ideas and we both were immediately impressed.I greatly appreciated the course provided key strategies and prompts from initial evaluation through course of the therapy.

This won't affect my work because I work in a school where we don't treat transgender voice, but the course is personal to me as I have a transgender person in my family and this will help me help them with having a voice that corresponds to who they are. I do think all SLPs who work outside the early childhood and maybe school setting should understand how to work with transgender clients who want their voices to match their identity.

I am a lifetime member of ASHA (retired). This is a treatment group that I have been curious about, and the presenter gave a lot of great information about the topic. I definitely agree in allowing the therapist to do a little counseling that is within the confines of our practice.
