The goal examples at the end and the statement about our role as an SLP was very helpful. I wish that the instructor provided more concrete examples (maybe even videos) of what her 1:1 session looks like with her students rather than just listing career/functional ideas (I.e. for students who run the cafe or the school store - what exactly does the session look like? What do you do with that student 1:1?).

The presenter was amazing! This is one of the best courses I’ve taken on this platform. My high school does many of these activities with our students who are intellectually disabled, but I did get new ideas from the presentation. I loved the information about co-treating. I did learn new things about progress monitoring.

It emphasized transdisciplinary collaboration, skill generalization, and backward goal planning, providing practical, student-centered strategies that can be applied directly in educational practice.

This made me want to work in a high school! I loved everything about this presentation. We all knew the importance of contextualized therapy, but it feels hard sometimes in a school setting, with limited resources. This presenter gave fantastic ideas about collaboration and creating meaningful context based therapy from reverse inclusion to the coffee cart/cafe. I loved the spot group idea and progress monitoring via classroom teachers. This was spot on!

This course was great. I believe speech therapy in schools needs to undergo changes and be adjusted, as caseloads and opportunities for students evolve. It is hard to complete the traditional pull-out-to-office model when we have students assigned to jobsites, off campus for electives, or absent. It's better to practice the skills where they will be applied. SLPs are NOT the only ones targeting communication in a school setting. We must all work together.
