Opened my eyes to how impactful and important the social interaction part of writing is for both the writer (conveying a narrative, reflecting on feedback) and the audience (hearing the narrative, providing feedback). It was also very helpful to have examples of scaffolding at all levels / components of writing.

Great presentation of materials. The student work samples showed how student written narratives skills improved. Great examples and handouts were presented for use with students. The author chair was a great idea to help students practice their skills and increase their speaking confidence.

The beauty is this process and the tools provided could be used to embed instruction with the focus and projects in the general ed classroom. Very specific tools which could be utilized tomorrow.
