Presenter addressed the learning outcome information, and briefly presented some cases to somewhat use the information. In the neuroanatomy section, and blood supply review, diagrams would have helped me more than hand gestures. Also, when discussing R MCA issues, incomplete list of symptoms of RHD.

Sarah has a wonderful way of explaining complex information in an understandable way. She speaks slowly to allow the listener to process the information and her slides were not "too busy" to follow. Really enjoyed this. Did learn new terms: equipotentiation and vicariation (new terms for familiar concepts). That's what happens when you've been around a long time...

I loved the emphasis on the vascular supply to the brain. The quick overview of anatomy was great since I have been out of school for a while and am starting to see more stroke patients. I loved the video presentation as it kept me engaged. I liked discussion of the neuroimaging as I've never seen a summary like that before and it made a lot of sense (same with the early intervention). It is so important to know those things as SLPs.

I really enjoy studying the brain! I received a 2nd Masters in 2001 in Psychology/Neuroscience, doing an animal (rat) study. My thesis was Effects of Behavioural Therapies and Pharmacological Intervention in Brain Damage. The study involved demonstrating neuroplasticity, equipotentiation, and vicariation (I did not use those latter 2 words then!). Sarah did an excellent job in presenting info on the brain! Thanks for reminding me about our amazing brain!!!

This course is a great review of grad school neuroanatomy, although some visuals of the brain to go with each slide would have been gone a long way. This content will be review for most SLPs but a video course about neuroanatomy should still have diagrams for reference, either in the video itself or in the handouts. There should also be visuals when explaining the different types of neuroimaging. The best way to understand the differences (CT vs CTA vs MRI) is to actually see the different types of images that they produce.

Diagrams of the brain would be extremely helpful to understand the anatomy explained in the first portion of the presentation. Presentation could benefit from including clinical applications throughout - more case studies with examples of stroke locations and outcomes, more practice interpreting MRIs CT, CTA's etc. For practicing clinicians looking to increase knowledge on strokes, I did not find this to be particularly helpful.
