I have worked in SNF's for 10 years. This course is SO applicable to what we can do to facilitate ADL's and our role as SLP's. It took me a while to realize I could assist with my knowledge and skilled interventions to help the patient in their ADL's. This course is much needed and I highly recommend it.

I love how practical this course was in showing how SLPs can assist with bathroom ADLs. I especially enjoyed the visuals, such as with the memory aids and the Montessori method with clothing. The simulated presence therapy is a neat idea because it helps family to participate in care, even when they are not physically present to do so. The portions on staff communication to people with dementia should be shown in ALFs and SNFs nationwide.
