Phenomenal course! I appreciated the reference to the neuroscience literature to explain the impact of "growing up digital" and its affects on neurodevelopment. I love how she described screen time as "mental junk food". I will be adding that phrase to my speech-pathology vernacular

This course provided more knowledge and facts about the effects of extended screen time in children. The population I mostly work with is primarily under 5 years old.Having this information would be a great tool to share with parents/caregivers who consistently expose their children to long periods of screen time.

I love learning about the development of children. Now that I have my own, its so important for me to understand the science of what is happening in my childs brains so that I can best support their development all the way through their adolescent years. It was very factual and informative. I do need to go back and take notes so that it can actually stick in my brain and I can share the information to educate others on what has blessed me. Education is so powerful and I regret taking it so light

The information was presented so well and was very pertinent to the world we live in today. It is so important to share this information with parents, teachers, grandparents, and pediatricians so they can have a broader knowledge of screen time and the impact on development. It is imperative for all of us in the child's environment to exercise good digital practices.

I see the poor sleep patterns in the public schools daily from unmonitored screen time. Furthermore, parents are just as likely to be on their screens and paying little attention to their children. I have seen many parents get angry when they are interrupted as well. Good reminders of what to teach the students we work with and their parents.

This course was so interesting and informative. I discussed so much of this seminar, regarding the impact of screen use on children's development, with my adult daughter. She found this information every bit as interesting as I did when I viewed it. The impact of excessive screen time can be very detrimental to children and the degree to which this can happen was even more alarming than I had speculated prior to taking this course.
