Angie Neal is the best presenter I have ever seen on video! Her enthusiasm for speech is unmatched, and she demonstrates a love of the profession along with a wealth of information on the topic of /r/ articulation. The /r/ can be a difficult sound for children to learn, and Angie has gifted her listeners with so many therapeutic tools to utilize in the teaching process. The course is excellent!

Excellent course! I'm so glad that I found and took these courses. I participated in both Part 1 and Part 2. The information was current, organized and very helpful. Part 2 was especially helpful with the Hierarchy outline and strategies for teaching the /r/ sound. Angie gave great examples of how to teach the strategies for achieving sound production, demonstrations, and fun engaging activities to use for the students. The hand-outs with fun activities will also be very useful. Thank You!

I have taken at least 5 of Angie's courses now. She is quick, spirited, speaks on a professional (not boring) level, and speaks on functional topics that can be used by a working SLP everyday or on a weekly basis. I like that this course is broken up into 2 equal parts to make it more manageable to watch on a worknight.

It was a good course but unfortunately I didn't really learn any new techniques. I disagree with the answer to the first question on the exam. The question says the retracted requires that... the correct answer is supposedly all of the above. If you are eliciting the r, you want to discourage lip and jaw movement in favor of tongue movement. However, it is not required that lips and jaw not move to make the sound, as stated. You can make a retracted r with jaw closed and lips rounded.
