Excellent content. Well-organized and presented. Proud that you are bringing to light these areas that may go unnoticed. I do not recall if culture was spoken about, but considering the background and culture of the individual is of importance. For example, eye contact or lack thereof may be deemed acceptable or not depending on the culture. Thank you for taking time to share your knowledge and experience.

My brother suffered from TIA's affecting the frontal lobe and experienced deficits described in this course. It was very difficult to watch and be around. His family was content to know the personality/behavior changes were a result of the TIA's and never seeked help. It broke my heart. As a sister I chose to love and support him. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. It took a heavy toll on the family.

As the instructor noted, this can be a more challenging disorder to tackle. She gave great analogies and examples of working with patients, that really drove home the learning. Very importantly, she stressed the rapport that is needed in gaining the trust of the patient and caregivers. She emphasized that something we take for granted like eye-contact can be so very important in that reciprocity of communication. It's more than just words.
