The instructor was thoughtful and sincere in the presentation of this topic. Prevention of Imposter Syndrome will push the field forward and therapists can be more productive. Noteworthy information on positivity and mindfulness was presented as well as the pitfalls of boundaries, buffers and balance. And of course, so much more.

I felt the presenter was very well rounded! She could express how mind fullness and yoga could allow a person to reduce stress and create ways to be positive in a variety of circumstances. The presentation allowed me to look into my past experiences and understand possibly what was driving feelings of inadequacy. Now I can also look back and credit my strengths as being individual triumphs versus passing them off as consequential to an event or another person. Thank you for this insight!

Almost every SLP I know has experienced stress and burnout at some point in their career! High achieving, successful SLPs should not feel incompetent, but we do! Thanks to Jessi's informative presentation, SLPs now have a better understanding of how the stress response affects us and specifically what is happening in the brain. Even better, Jessi taught us how to avert the imposter syndrome!

It was therapeutic listening to this seminar. I had terrible imposters syndrome my first 4-6 years as an SLP and it was great to not feel alone and to recognize the stress factors (rather than my ability) that had led to those feelings. Good stress management techniques discussed. I feel like this should be required for grad school, CFs, and anyone mentoring students and CFs.

This topic is critical to an SLP feeling like she is successful in her field. Just because one experiences stress or burnout doesn't mean you're incapable of doing your job. There are a lot of demands on us as professionals and its okay if we aren't perfect at all of them or can't meet all of them. We are all human beings and deserve to take care of ourselves so we can do our best. Meditation can help us to reduce burnout and stress as well as setting boundaries, setting up buffers and balance.

The organization threw me off a bit. Imposter Syndrome was the focus of the title, but we didn't get a real mention of it until almost halfway through, and at the beginning I thought this was really a course on supervision. It did eventually wrap up nicely, but I was initially not thinking we were going to be talking about the topic I signed up for. It seemed like it would've been a better 30 minute course. I did find the practical solutions helpful.

I deal with stress and burnout in this profession, so I thought it was interesting that burnout is the result of chronic stress. I enjoyed the analogy associated with this. Thought it was interesting that the hippocampus shrinks when under stress which is our ability to retain and memorize laid down information. Also the fact that imposter syndrome is typically seen in highly successful women, very intriguing.
