WOW! I have been an SLP for 40+ years and there are so many times when I feel like "I should know this...." but even with years of practice one can not know and do everything! This course was a cup filler in that it gave me permission to not need to know and do everything. Self-care is important and it can be done in big and small ways. I hope to continue practicing as an SLP for 5 - 10 more years and I will use the information from this course to avoid burn-out and not let stress consume me

Good reinforcement of my current supervision/training style, in which I encourage the student/new employee to reflect on positive aspects of the session. I remind the student/new employee of the benefit that they have provided the patient with their SLP service.

I wish I knew about the 3 Bs when I started in the field, as it would have helped me reduce some of the stress and anxiety. I have been through the endless cycle of burnout and imposter syndrome for so long that I would rather leave the field at this point.

I had not ever heard of the Imposter Syndrome, but I can tell you I have experienced it many times in my work and as a student SLP. There is so much to know and so much to convey that it can be very stressful. I believe this presenter has experienced so much that all of the rest of us had, that it was very easy to learn from her. Thanks to her, I am hoping for many students and practitioners to learn and understand this syndrome. Thank you to the presenter.

I think it is important to discuss the imposter syndrome as a business owner and SLP I relate. I think the vague protocols and guidelines make it easy to question decisions, while also being of the nature that we want to make the best choices for our clients.

I found this extremely reassuring and helpful as a clinical supervisor! I also think it would be a great read for graduate students to a) help them understand the role of a supervisor better; and b) help them understand themselves better. There can be perceived unrealistic expectations on all sides; this presentation helps to discuss those expectations and what is appropriate to feel and what is not, as well as the tools to combat negative feelings.
