All SLPs should watch this 4-part course to better understand play and the relationship of language with play. I work in B23, and also work in an outpatient clinic, and this course applies to children of all ages and stages of development, very helpful!

I enjoy this presenter. I appreciate the anecdotes and case studies; makes it easier for me to picture what the things she is talking about might look like in a child. The connections she is making in this presentation between motor skills and language development make sense but are not necessarily things I have considered before.

I learned a lot in this unit. The breakdown of motor development was very helpful. I love the instructor's perspective that we have to learn to understand the child and not hold fast to this criteria of what a child should be doing at a certain age.

I am an EI speech therapist. I am working with children at all three stages of Bates intentionality levels! This give me more information to share with parents as I explain to them why certain toys are not appropriate right now, why their child may not be using sign lanuage, why their 6 m/o did not say "mama" and why the 10 m/o only says it when they see Mama. I will be attending all 4 of these courses!

I feel that this course will help make me a better SLP. I work with school-aged kids so play is a huge part of my therapy activities and gives me great opportunities to meet my kids where they are and help them use the skills we learn in speech to carry over in to their everyday lives. Play is also a great way to make the kids think we're not actually doing work when we are actually working on their target goals and skills.
