This is Part 1 of the four-part series, Play is FUNdamental. This course builds upon a developmental perspective of child play behavior. Core principles of human physical development, as they relate to child engagement in play, will be presented. Stages of language/cognitive play and their correlations to stages of communication intent and language development will be discussed. Participants will learn how to observe behaviors in order to assess play and language in children and older individuals with developmental delays.
