The title of this presentation was spot on! The presenter was very energetic and presented clear, understandable content. Very thorough course on this important topic. Something to really think about more deeply when we routinely (and sometimes mechanically) ask “what is your pain level” to our patients.

My spouse has had chronic pain from scar tissue after surgery for many years. He finally went to pain management 18 months ago. Nothing worked until the last intervention, blocking brain from sending pain to the scar tissue area by inserting wires under the skin around his calf below and in the affected knee, a battery connected and placed below his knee. NO PAIN! He is going to physical therapy to get his gait back. Knee had been inflamed and after 2 days it was half the size.

Most of the general principles presented were anticipated, but many of the specific details were not. Auditory listener fatigue set in before the climax of the presentation. I was so hoping to better understand the dynamics of pain and in fact did learn some of them. So that pleases me. This is clearly way beyond an introductory level course; kindly reconsider reclassifying the designation.

Agree with others that this is not an introductory course unless you are highly familiar with neurologic terminology. The presenter is a PT, and the course focuses heavily on the etiology of pain, versus pain management. The "management" portion centers primarily on physical therapy treatment approaches and, while informative, is not necessarily relevant to speech, language, or swallowing treatment. The course presenter is very knowledgeable and packs a lot of information into the two hours.

This course should NOT have been classified as Introductory. It was a good course but the terminology regarding the brain was too difficult for an introductory course. The instructor was very knowledgeable and his presentation was well organized. He clearly knew his subject matter. But it was presented at a pace hard to keep up with. I had to back up at least 10 times trying to get what he was saying. I came into this course highly motivated because I deal with patients in pain on a regular
