Solid information. While this presentation felt much more theoretical than clinical in nature, there were certainly key points that can be applied clinically--I did appreciate the discussion of different tools for parental/community interviewing, for example--but I think more case study examples would have increased its utility in clinical application.

This presentation had useful information and a lot of "food for thought." The citations were relevant and the examples given made sense. The slides were a little information-heavy, and the instructor's presentation style could have been more engaging and less like a lecture.

I needed additional information about culturally supportive ways to support my families in my new schools. This course pointed out several options and considerations for me to evaluate when assessing and working with several students at my school. In addition, it provided me with not only answers, but other questions I hadn't thought of that will guide me to further learn about how to best support my students and families.

I do have trouble following along with this teachers style of communication. I felt it was more of a "talk" rather than an education presentation. I prefer when I am given words/phrases and definitions explained more in depth that on a level like I may have heard some of the terms before. I am just a bullet point learner.

Viewed as a transcript especially, this is a meandering course with few concrete recommendations. I was hoping for tools and ideas to actually implement - the most I got from this course was the ALDeQ (which doesn't immediately strike me as a strong thoughtful resource) and lots of quick mention of different kinds of bias. It would've been beneficial if the presenter shared more norms or resources on how to actually measure development.

overall this is so insightful. Working with families from various SES or various cultures. You learn their approach to language is not always the same. So having them address there concerns and beliefs helps with prioritizing whats most important to them and how to work with their child or family member

When sharing information about assessment and intervention, the strategies given were suggestions that would fit a middle-class SES bias. For example, families of lower economic means may not be able to bring in pictures, etc to help intervention to be more culturally approprate.
