I have learned a lot about how to treat those client's seeking treatment for stuttering. This was a beneficial course, and it helped me to understand the importance of the parent education piece for those children who are very young and exhibit early age of onset for stuttering. Excellent presenter.

Loved the review of treatment approaches across ages and the examples of goals related to different treatment approaches and strategies. Loved the ideas on how to talk to parents about talking about stuttering and not to associate it with anything negative (stuttering increased this week vs. had a bad week) and when its time to take a more direct approach even with pre-schoolers. I thought this was excellent all around.

not only did he give treatment ideas but examples of goals, he also targeted some of the terminology that was helpful to me; and addressed some principles of treatment such as avoidance and how a client might stutter less for the clinician but just can be avoiding stuttering and not becoming more fluent, so he addressed some of the finer ins and outs that can happen with stuttering

Once again, a very informative course! I (and my students) are grateful to be validated! I LOVE the OASES! It has helped me prove why my students need to continue in speech therapy, even though they are both A+ students academically. One is severely, negatively impacted socially and emotionally by the stuttering. I was able to get that student counseling services to help increase feelings of self-worth and self-confidence.

It also gave great ideas for how to write goals that are targeting the technique that you are using.
