The information presented regarding dysphagia of ALS and PD patients was excellent. The tools to assess swallowing specifically ALS Functional Rating Scale and EAT-10 will assist in screening and documenting swallowing in patients with ALS in addition to CSE and VFSS. Discussion about IOPI to improve lingual pressures in patients with ALS and PD. Presenter delivery was easy to follow.

As someone who works almost exclusively with these populations, it was wonderful to hear that another expert in this area uses non-traditional therapeutic approaches and a co-treatment approach with the RD....not only to treat bulbar symptoms but keeping in mind the patient and family's QOL. Thank you for this presentation!

I tend to shy away from ALS topics, because I find it so sad and have felt that our role as SLP is really not helpful. This course made me feel l I can offer something to these patients to assist with quality of life . Thank you

I value the research toward a topic so misunderstood, by patients. When speaking with patients that have ALS, their concern is that they are initially told that they do not have much time left to live, and not everyone is able to explain the process of the disease fast enough, and in a concise manner, for them to enjoy the remaining time they have.
