Easy to read, although I do wish it provided a specific example of a situation including some cognitive bias and how to ethically work through that (recognizing, of course, the bias is solely relative to that person in the case study, as all readers could potentially have different views, etc.)

It was insightful for me as an individual, not necessarily as a professional SLP. The information helped me better understand myself and my behaviors related to cognitive strain, as this is very relevant in my life. It provided vocabulary to talk about my own biases, tendency towards homogeneity and the course encouraged me towards heterogeneity in my personal and professional life.

The instructor was concise and the learning outcomes reflected what I learned from the course. This is a good course to take to meet the ethics requirement by ASHA. With social media, I believe it is so easy to experience "group think", this course provided great reminders about the different types of bias.

Wow! I am so enlightened. As a sociologist by degree before becoming an SLP, this is so fascinating to me. The concept of groupthink is one we don't consider enough, yet it is so pervasive in groups. Thank you for opening my eyes wider to the issue of ethics. I more fully understand now why ASHA requires a course like this!

I was just having a conversation about ethical decision making and bias with my graduate student intern within the context of having only worked as an SLP in Idaho and Montana. I was stating how I am seeking out potential employment in more diverse locations because I feel that my experience of different cultures and perspectives is too narrow. This course helped explain to me what and why I am feeling this way at this point in my career.

It was helpful to have so many real-life scenarios in our everyday lives to explain each concept, and then show how this relates to many areas in the work we do as SLPs. This is useful for many kinds of decisions we have to make, and helpful considerations that will bring more success for us as well as those we serve.
