Appreciated the stories told to illustrate different points during the lecture, both for their effectiveness as well as, as indicted, their nod to cultures in which story telling is valued. The presentation was well organized and well-paced (not too fast) for absorbing the content.

Mindy Brooks Eaves is a mesmerizing, passionate speaker who is clearly an educated, informed, reflective expert in the field of cultural competence. I not only learned a lot, but am now able to think about local and world events with a broader perspective. My favorite slide was the one that described "Knowledge." I worked in the field of Speech Pathology and the only changes I ever saw made were "symbolic." I thank the presenter for digging deeper and explaining how bias and judgment can be not only hurtful, but effect mental health. The checklist/models of self reflection should be used in every industry. This was one of the most interesting courses I have taken, it finally addressed all the things I have lived with as a man of colour from a different country in a field that is 99% female and White.

I LOVED this course. I liked her style of teaching mixed with storytelling. I really appreciated the ADDRESSING model she presented, because it helped me to have a tool to use to start to work on cultural humility. Sometimes it feels like you're told you're doing things wrong but no tool to improve, but that tool and pausing to use it gave me a place to start. I hope to share it with my colleagues.

This was a good presentation; however, it was built upon the philosophy of Critical Race Theory. I believe CRT to be unethical. While there are practices I will implement, my mantra will not be CRT— instead: treat others how you wish to be treated.
