I liked thinking about the different settings an SLP can work in and if they might be a good fit for me or not based on stress level, flexibility/stability, and workload. I felt that this was helpful information I had not really considered before. I had always just thought about what topics and populations I found most interesting to work with.

As a speech therapist looking to return to the field after being home with my kids, this webinar was very helpful. It was helpful to know that there are many others in the field that feel like they are starting over again. It was also helpful to know that many have also successfully transitioned back to work following having time off from the field. I also found it helpful to learn a little about teletherapy options.

The discussion mainly focused on selecting a setting, which is something that SLP’s could do on their own. More valuable information would be walking through resources of where to go to find information and actually update CCC’s and licensure or if needed where to find study resources. Also, instead of recommending looking for social media forums, podcasts, and blogs for resources with the disclaimer to check quality, it would have been nice to receive a vetted list.

Good course. The presenter delineated all the settings in which we have the opportunity to work. She outlined many of the factors that could play a role in our success and satisfaction in each of those settings. She didn't really provide information about what has changed significantly in the field, but she did provide resources where such materials could be located.
