I felt the course was very negative. I prefer teaching, not preaching. Yes, there was information given, but the tone and attitude of the speaker was difficult to listen to. I get that there are many different views on CAPD, however, we are all here to learn, not be preached to. We obviously feel the need to learn more, hence taking the course. It was just very negative.

I enjoyed the verification of the existence of APD. I have a mild hearing loss - I agree that 'preferential seating' is individualized but I disagree with the author's 'dis' on the term. I will likely continue to use the term and explain what I mean in the reports based on my observations related to that particular student.

The course provided a thorough overview of APD, including assessment tools and interventions. A more balanced, collaborative tone and nuanced discussion of classroom strategies would improve learner engagement.

I needed a refresher on this topic. I’ve known through years as an SLP that APD is a valid diagnosis, yet finding an audiologist to assess it is difficult in our area. Cost and transportation are major barriers for families, and schools can’t always cover testing. I also learned that a test labeled “auditory processing” does not always measure true APD.

Working in the schools, it is very important to be able to identify and support our students with APD. These students are easily missed and labeled otherwise with many accommodations provided, but not always successful. I enjoyed the tools that were provided in this training.

This presentation validated the need for Audiologists to play a crucial role when discussing Auditory Processing Disorder. There's often "turf wars" in regards to what specialists are responsible for what area of assessments and their responsibilities in the process. The confusion stems from the delineation of roles between medical professionals and educators in school systems.

Somewhat condescending tone of instructor. For example I don't think anyone in this field needs to be told "This is a thing" . We know. Also don't think its appropriate that several times instructor said..."just play around with it, see how you like it". You don't give an assessment to a child to "play around with it" . Several comments that seemed unprofessional.
