The presenter had great ideas for activities; however, the presentation lacked discussion of specific goals that could be targeted wirh these activities and what data collection might practically look like. For example, I’m unsure how yoga would help my studentswork on specific social skills or even lifting weights for that matter. It could have been better. She could’ve said “when I have my students participate in yoga, these are some example targets we work on.”

List of YouTubes for modified games was helpful. I don't think the presenter spent enough time justifying some of her activities as related to speech-language skills. They were more related to self-regulation, which is necessary for social competence, but it is only one piece of the puzzle for social-pragmatic communication skills.

The course had very valuable information - thank you! It is a great point that we as SLPs need to teach older students activities that they can enjoy during their free time. Finding leisure activities is a life skill and it is something that I struggle with even as an adult.Additional information on when you target these skills during a group therapy session would be useful (start end break?)It would be great if a course agenda were available for full CEU credit for my state licensing board.

I loved this class for it not only validated what I had always thought/done, but it fortified my toolbox. My students all love Uno, and Go Fish and Jenga, so it's nice to expand to include Connect Four and learn about Double Up and Modified Scrabble, Yoga and weight lifting. I've used my one version of something like the Grocery Store game though not just grocery store theme and my students have loved it. It's fun to see this validated. ALso add Top Trumps to the list and the Timeline game
